Ways to Reach Out to Texas and Florida
Many are wondering how we can help so many who are suffering through the devastation due to Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Of course, the best way we can help is by praying for all of those who are displaced, discouraged, and distressed by this unprecedented storm.

We can also offer real-time assistance by donating to organizations who are on the ground already bringing relief. The rescue and recovery effort will not be over in a day, week, or even a year. We, who are safe and secure, can help to keep these organizations functioning by donating generously. The Potomac Ministry Network suggests and we agree, that Convoy of Hope (www.convoyofhope.org) or Christ In Action (www.christinaction.com) are both excellent in working in these kinds of devastating situations. Christ In Action and Convoy of Hope met up last week and have joined forces to help those in need. You can also forward your donations to Christian Chapel Assembly of God (www.ccagvb.com) and we will see that the funds are forwarded expeditiously.

You have always been a generous and caring people. Thank you for stepping up to support ministries that bring necessary help and the good news of Jesus Christ in this historic storm and recovery effort.

When you give directly to missions, you are connected directly to the work the Holy Spirit is doing through missionaries around the world. You support the spread of the Gospel! Would you begin to pray and ask the Lord what your part could be in 2018 as a partner in missions through your Faith Promise?

Life on life, face to face, discussion and application of God’s Word will have an affect on your spiritual growth that is fantastic. Get connected today!

Christian Chapel Membership
If you have been a regular at Christian Chapel we are grateful for your fellowship and ministry participation. Being regular, we encourage you to apply for official membership with this local body. The standard of membership is actually pretty simple:
1. Show evidence of being saved by trusting in Jesus Christ (John 1:12)
2. Show evidence of a consistent Christian life by practicing Christian disciplines and avoiding obvious sin as a lifestyle.
3. Fully agree with the tenets of faith in our By-laws (the 16 Fundamental Beliefs of the Assemblies of God).
4. Be willing to regularly support the church financially according to your ability.
To become a member simply fill out an application and hand it to pastor Tom, Doug, Cheryl, or one of the deacons or staff members. Thanks again for you commitment to this local church and Making Jesus Known.

What might that do for you in terms of helping you live out and apply the teaching from the Bible? Have you ever wanted to know that you had a few people in the church you were really close to and could count on? Sermon-based Life Groups are the answer! We currently have eight groups that meet in homes throughout the community. We will form more groups as leaders are trained and available.
