Thought for the Week July 2, 2017

On Saturday, this week, myself and a small team of workers will travel to upstate New York to Elim Bible Institute and College to serve as short term missionaries doing some much needed repair and construction work. We believe this is a vital undertaking, since Elim trains and prepares God’s people for works of ministry both within the United States and around the world. The work we do frees up the faculty of Elim to focus no preparing students for the works of ministry to which God calls them.

Short term missions trips not only help ministries and missionaries carry out their function but also greatly encourages those who are doing the work. Knowing that someone from far away cares enough to give up their time, money, and effort to add value to them and their ministry efforts lifts them and energizes them to keep going.

Would you pray for me, Mike and Amy Davidson, and Nick Cary, as we travel and work for the week of July 8-15? Would you also begin now to pray how God might use you to be part of the next short term trip. It will be here before you know it and you can be the one to bring joy and encouragement to someone who may be overwhelmed with ministry duties. It might be a turning point in your life! Just a thought.
