This picnic is an annual event filled with fun and fellowship where we get to take our love for Jesus out into the park. Please put this on your calendar now.

Christian Chapel Membership
If you have been a regular at Christian Chapel we are grateful for your fellowship and ministry participation. Being regular, we encourage you to apply for official membership with this local body. The standard of membership is actually pretty simple:
1. Show evidence of being saved by trusting in Jesus Christ (John 1:12)
2. Show evidence of a consistent Christian life by practicing Christian disciplines and avoiding obvious sin as a lifestyle.
3. Fully agree with the tenets of faith in our By-laws (the 16 Fundamental Beliefs of the Assemblies of God).
4. Be willing to regularly support the church financially according to your ability.
To become a member simply fill out an application and hand it to pastor Tom, Doug, Cheryl, or one of the deacons or staff members. Thanks again for you commitment to this local church and Making Jesus Known.

Sunday Morning Growth Groups
Small groups designed to learn Bible truth and application in a
setting that is non-threatening, friendly, and suited to every taste.
We currently have three adult and one teen group enjoying the
following studies:
Tweens (8-11): Classroom 1, Children’s Wing
Teens: Radiant Life Curriculum
Adult Men: Stepping Up by Dennis Rainey
Adult Women: Full Armor of God, by Priscilla Schirer. This study began on January 22, so you can still get in on the ground floor.
Adult Mixed: Beginning, Sunday, March 12, a study of Ravi Zacharias’ new book Jesus Among Secular Gods. This study will give you ideas for conversations with those who are wrapped up in atheism, relativism, etc.
Newcomers: This four week group acquaints anyone new to Christian Chapel with our mission, purpose, and vision for Making Jesus Known in our community. The group is held in four-week sessions throughout the year. Contact Peter or Sommer Graves at 757-427-9371 to find out when the next session begins.

“SafeHouse” – Christian Chapel Youth
SafeHouse, a group for teens, ages 12 to 18 meets every Friday from 7 pm to 9 pm., to teach our teens to live for Christ in their current context and prepare them to live as Christian adults when that day comes.

Sermon Based Life Groups
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be able to study out what you hear on Sunday morning or to discuss it with a few close friends from church? What might that do for you in terms of helping you live out and apply the teaching from the Bible? Have you ever wanted to know that you had a few people in the church you were really close to and could count on? Sermon-based Life Groups are the answer! We currently have eight groups that meet in homes throughout the community. We will form more groups as leaders are trained and available. If you are interested in connecting with a Life Group call the office at 757-427-9371 or email Pastor Cheryl Pickford at
