Calendar of Events

Kid’s Day
This Sunday, September 11, in the 10:30 service we will recognize and honor our children. This is a very special time of acknowledging that children are God’s gift to us and they are important. We will have something for every child and do some drawings for prizes

All Church Picnic and Family Olympics
After the Kid’s Day service on September 11, we will hold a picnic right here at church and then commence our annual Family Olympics. Our expert grillers will barbecue up all the meats that you bring and we will share together in the pot luck of side dishes and desserts. Then our Olympic teams will compete in feats of strength and agility like sack races, hula hoop spinning, and watermelon seed spitting. The three teams with the best accumulated scores will win a prize package worthy of the Olympics! Teams can consist of adults, teens, and children with the only requirement being that each team must have children 11 and under on the team. Gather your family team and sign them up today.

Women’s Ministry “His Masterpiece” Painting Event
Saturday, September 17, noon to 3PM. Ladies, how would you like to learn how to paint a picture? We will have an instructor here to teach and coach you at this event. Cost is $5.00 per person. Bring a dish to share for lunch. Contact Kathy Elliott at 757-287-2463 for more information.

“SafeHouse” – Christian Chapel Youth
SafeHouse, a group for teens, ages 12 to 18 meets every Friday from 7 pm to 9 pm., to teach our teens to live for Christ in their current context and prepare them to live as Christian adults when that day comes.

Sermon Based Life Groups
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be able to study out what you hear on Sunday morning or to discuss it with a few close friends from church? What might that do for you in terms of helping you live out and apply the teaching from the Bible? Have you ever wanted to know that you had a few people in the church you were really close to and could count on? Sermon-based Life Groups are the answer! We currently have eight groups that meet in homes throughout the community. We will form more groups as leaders are trained and available. If you are interested in connecting with a Life Group call the office at 757-427-9371 or email Pastor Cheryl Pickford at cpickford@live.com.

Life Group Fall Semester Begins

If there is not a group there for you, maybe you could get together with a few others and start a new one. Everyone benefits from being in a Life Group!
